Group D felt like there were clear cut tiers with IG dominating at 3-0, Fnatic next up at 2-1, 100T at 1-2, and G-Rex at 0-3. If you were to tell me that the second round robin would be a direct repeat on the first round robin, I don't think I would argue at all. Every game went according to plan with Fnatic and IG winning their first 2 games over 100 Thieves and G-Rex, which qualified them for the knockout stage and eliminated 100 Thieves. 100 Thieves got their 2nd win against G-Rex and the final match was Fnatic and IG. If Fnatic won, they would force a tiebreaker game where IG was trying to become the only team to go undefeated in the group stage. Fnatic spoiled the party by dominating IG in a 15-4 kill game. The tiebreaker game was a little closer, but Fnatic completed the run back as they beat IG again to claim the 1st seed. Caps and Rekkles carried on Akali and Ezreal and showed everyone that the West is here to compete!
Fnatic with their miraculous Day 2 to go 5-1 and claim 1st seed and IG drop to 2nd seed even though they were also 5-1. 100 Thieves look mediocre at 2-4 and G-Rex were a step below at 0-6. The West got their 1st seed!
