8 weeks have passed in the 2019 NA LCS Spring Split and only half the teams know their fate. Team Liquid, Cloud9, Team SoloMid, and FlyQuest have all clinched their playoff spots. Team Liquid have also clinched a bye, while Cloud9 and Team SoloMid are fighting for the 2nd one. FlyQuest are secure in 4th place, but still want to continue their strong play. 5 teams are technically still alive in the race for the final 2 playoff spots. Golden Guardians lead this pack at 7-9, with Counter Logic Gaming, Echo Fox, and OpTic Gaming behind them by 1 game, and Clutch Gaming bringing up the rear at 5-11. Clutch Gaming need to go 2-0 against Team SoloMid and Cloud9, which is highly unlikely so we can comfortably eliminate them from contention. Echo Fox face Team Liquid first, which feels like an automatic loss putting them at 11 losses and so they have an outside chance at maybe forcing a tiebreaker. This leaves Golden Guardians, Counter Logic Gaming, and OpTic Gaming. Each day has a pivotal game putting 2 contenders up against each other. On Saturday, you have Golden Guardians vs OpTic Gaming and on Sunday, you have Counter Logic Gaming vs Echo Fox. I predict that Golden Guardians will hold on to their current playoff spot and Counter Logic Gaming will join them.
