The highly anticipated Summer Split Finals between 1st seed Team Liquid and 2nd seed Cloud9 started off with a bang as Doublelift got picked off in bottom lane in a 2v1, giving first blood to Sneaky. Team Liquid fought back with a pair of great ganks; first in top lane and then another in bottom lane to take an early lead. This lead allowed them to control the bottom half of the map and securing the first 2 dragons. Team Liquid caught Jensen pushed too far forward in top lane and after the pick, they pushed their 5v4 advantage for 2 more kills, which led to a baron and dragon. The game was still fairly even in the 34th minute when a 5v5 fight broke out in mid; it was back and forth, but somehow Team Liquid were able to escape with slivers of health and win the fight 4-1. The 4 remaining members ran it down mid and were able to end the game after ace-ing Cloud9 with Doublelift ending 4-1-5 on Kai'Sa.
Game 2 saw Svenskeren and Goldenglue get subbed in, but it didn't start out well as Goldenglue got solo killed by Pobelter early on. And then he was killed once again after a gank by Xmithie in mid lane. This game was much bloodier as both teams were looking to be aggressive and take control of the bottom side of the map. Constant ganks and counter ganks saw 11 kills in the first 15 minutes with Team Liquid taking a small lead and securing the 1st dragon as well. A scattered fight mid saw Pobelter take out a few members of Cloud9 and escape with low health to take the fight 3-0 and push their lead further. They continue to find kills across the map and then a big fight in Cloud9's jungle leads to another team fight win 4-2 and the 1st baron. Cloud9 found the fight they needed to give themselves a chance, but Pobelter and Team Liquid were too much as he went 8-3-13 and continually picked off Cloud9's backline to win fight after fight.
Team Liquid were looking strong as ever, so Cloud9 switched up their line up once again, this time starting Svenskeren and Jensen in jungle and mid respectively. Two successful ganks in top lane by Xmithie on Goldenglue saw Team Liquid take an early 2-0 lead, but the pressure in top lane gave up 2 dragons to Cloud9. Amazing rotations by Team Liquid found them 3 more kills in bottom lane as they caught out both the bottom lane and jungler of Cloud9. Cloud9 finally got on the board with an even 2 for 2 team fight. With the map split, 4 members of Team Liquid started the baron and before Cloud9 could collapse, they had secured it and started their pushed down mid for an inhibitor. The pushed their advantage all across the map taking down all 3 inhibitors and eventually suffocating Cloud9 to their fountain. Team Liquid sweep the finals once again and Doublelift had another great game going 6-1-6.
