Ways to Qualify for Worlds:

A lot of people have been complaining about the LCS Summer Playoff Format, but I wanted to do an analysis on how teams can qualify for Worlds, which is the ultimate goal for many of these teams. NA will be sending 3 teams to Worlds and looking at the bracket, 2 teams will make it from the upper bracket (B1 Winner and B2 Winner) and 1 team will make it from the lower bracket (Y1 Winner).
So what does this mean? The 2 slots in the upper bracket are only available to teams that finish 1st to 6th and on average it would require 1.67 wins with 1st/2nd only requiring 1 win to make it to Worlds. On the other hand, every team (1st-8th) is able to make it to Worlds through the lower bracket. On average, it would require 2.83 wins with the majority of teams (3rd-8th) requiring 3 wins to make it to Worlds. I think this combo format of playoffs + gauntlet will send the best 3 teams to Worlds and it has made many late-season games exciting to watch and follow.
