Week 5 marks the end of the first half of the season and the start of the second half. Day 1 brought no surprises as CLG lost to Team Liquid and TSM lost to Cloud9. Both CLG and TSM are still struggling to find the consistency that is needed for a championship team. On Day 2, they faced off against Clutch Gaming and 100 Thieves, who had beat them earlier in the split. CLG and TSM have such a rich history in winning that you always give them a slight edge in close matches. Maybe it has to do with franchising, but this split is different than all others as both CLG and TSM lose on Day 2, going 0-2 in Week 5. There are still 4 weeks to turn things around, but right now things look bleak for both of these storied franchises. Going into Day 2, Cloud 9 and Echo Fox were tied for first at 8-1 with Echo Fox winning their head to head match-up. Cloud 9 locked in Lucian for their rookie top laner against Huni, the man who made top Lucian famous. Huni seemed to have a point to prove and with the help of Dardoch, they ravaged top lane and snowballed the map; beating Cloud 9 in convincing fashion.
