On Day 1 of Week 8, we had very few surprises with FlyQuest continuing their strong play beating Clutch Gaming. Team Liquid took care of OpTic Gaming. Team SoloMid kept their playoff chances alive by beating Counter Logic Gaming and now tying OpTic in the standings. Cloud9 extend their win streak to 5 wins against Golden Guardians. And in the last match, it was a battle for 2nd place between 100 Thieves and Echo Fox. It was a dominant game from 100 Thieves where they finished the game in under 30 minutes.
On Day 2, the middle of the pack built up momentum towards playoffs with all Top 3 teams losing. FlyQuest beat Counter Logic Gaming to get to 9-7 and move into a tie for 3rd place. Cloud9 did not want to be left behind and they took down the 1st seed Team Liquid with 2 subs in Goldenglue and Svenskeren to also finish 9-7. In one of the longest games of the season, Team SoloMid outlasted and outplayed 100 Thieves to get to .500. And in Summer Split style, Team Liquid fall to OpTic in a crazy match. The standings are jam packed with 3 teams at 9-7 and 2 teams at 8-8 with only 4 playoff spots up for grabs.
