Overwatch Contenders 2018 Season 2: North America returns on July 3rd, 2018. The Top 8 teams from 2018 Season 1 return to Season 2 and are joined by the Top 4 teams from Trials, which is a combination of Contenders Bottom 4 and Open Division Top 4.

You have Contenders 2018 Season 1 Champions, Fusion University (Philadelphia Fusion's academy team), returning to defend their crown and Season 1 Runners Up, Toronto Esports (Boston Uprising's academy team), trying to avenge their finals lost. Other Top 8 teams include GG Esports Academy (Houston Outlaw's academy team), Team EnVy (Dallas Fuel's academy team), Gladiators Legion (Los Angeles Gladiator's academy team), XL2 Academy (New York Excelsior's academy team), NRG Esports (San Francisco Shock's academy team), and Mayhem Academy (Flordia Mayhem's academy team). Last Night's Leftovers and Bye Week survive Trials and return for a 2nd season of Contenders. Skyfoxes and Second Wind are brand new teams that made it through the Open Division and Trials to make it to Season 2. As you may have noticed, Overwatch Contenders North America is the whose who of Overwatch League Academy Teams with 8 out of the 12 teams being represented. Team CC (Shanghai Dragon's academy team) play out of the China region, while British Hurricane (London Spitfire's academy team) play out of the Europe region. For some reason, the Los Angeles Valiant and Seoul Dynasty do not currently have academy teams.
